Interview conducted by Alan Cherry as part of the LDS Afro-American Oral History Project of the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on 6 June 1987. Ward describes her early life and religious experiences in Jackson, Mississippi. She talks of her courtship and marriage, her conversion to the Mormon Church, and her non-member husband's reactions to that Church. She comments on her life as a Mormon.
